A beginner Tarot reader often faces doubts: which questions can be asked, how to phrase them correctly, and what to do if the cards remain silent. To make Tarot readings helpful and clear, it is important to follow a few simple rules.
Tarot does not answer questions that violate another person’s free will. Therefore, it is not advisable to ask:
“What does this person think of me?”
“When exactly will I die?”
“What is the outcome of an illness?”
Also, avoid vague or overly general questions such as “What will happen next?” — they usually lead to unclear answers.
The best way is to phrase your questions openly and constructively. Instead of asking: “Will my partner come back to me?”, try:
“What prevents me from building a harmonious relationship?”
“What steps can I take to reconcile?”
“What lesson am I supposed to learn from this situation?”
This way you receive guidance and possible actions, not just a passive prediction.
It is not recommended to ask the same question repeatedly. If you press the cards too often, the answers will become confusing. Ideally, one spread per situation is enough, and you should only repeat it if the circumstances have changed or enough time has passed.
At first glance, the cards may seem contradictory. Remember: they often show different aspects of the same situation. In such cases:
Look at the overall theme of the spread.
Pull an additional clarifying card.
Trust your intuition — sometimes “contradiction” actually highlights hidden factors.
Tarot is not a medical tool. The cards can point to emotional or energetic causes of discomfort, but they do not provide a diagnosis. If you have health issues, always consult a doctor — Tarot can only serve as an additional source of insight.
Sometimes the cards seem to avoid answering. This may mean:
the question was asked incorrectly,
it is not yet the right time to know the answer,
you are too emotionally involved and block clarity.
In such cases, try rephrasing the question or waiting until the situation naturally becomes clearer.
Working with Tarot is a dialogue, not a rigid prediction. For the cards to be helpful, ask them the right questions, avoid pressing too hard, and treat the spreads as guidance. Remember: Tarot does not make decisions for you — it shows the possible path, but it is up to you whether to walk it.
