Zoisite

     Zoisite is a mineral known for its vivid green, pink, and purple shades. Although officially identified in the 19th century, its varieties—such as thulite and ruby-in-zoisite—have been used in jewelry and cultural artifacts for centuries.

     The stone was first described in 1805 by Austrian mineralogist Abraham Gottlob Werner and was named after Baron Sigmund Zois, a Slovenian naturalist and patron of mineralogical research.
